Hydro-muscular massage and bath in California’s first Pet Spa, a totally automatic cabin that washes and blow-dries dogs and cats!  This patented system was designed by a team of veterinarians, animal behaviorists and engineers for the well being of pets. The computerized cabin safely maintains air and water temperatures at the recommended levels by the board of veterinary medicine. Pet Spa Cabin – Statement posted on 2/5/07 at www.launderpet.com:

According to Pet Spa USA (the manufacturer of the Pet Spa Cabin), the Pet Spa Cabin was designed by a team of veterinarians, animal behaviorists and engineers for the safety and well-being of pets.  The manufacturer’s website is located at www.petspausa.com.  The Pet Spa Cabin has been very popular in Europe and is quickly “catching on” in the United States.  There are several Pet Spa Cabins in operation in the Greater Los Angeles area.

A video of a cat in a Pet Spa Cabin (not at LaunderPet) was recently posted on You Tube and other places on internet websites.  This video is 1 minute and 37 seconds long and shows a cat jumping around in a Pet Spa Cabin.  Bubbles Pet Spa, another Pet Spa Cabin operator in Southern California, has posted a statement regarding this video at http://www.bubblespetspa.com/PetSpaFacts_2.doc which includes helpful facts and information regarding the Pet Spa Cabin.

LaunderPet employees have been given the following instructions regarding the operation of the Pet Spa Cabin at Belmont Pets & LaunderPet:

  1. You must STOP a Pet Spa cycle if a pet shows signs of distress while in the Pet Spa.
  2. Except in case of emergency, only LaunderPet employees are permitted to operate the Pet Spa.
  3. A LaunderPet employee and/or the pet’s owner should monitor the pet while it is in the Pet Spa.  This is especially important during the first minute of each Pet Spa cycle (the time during which you must evaluate the pet’s initial response to the Pet Spa).
  4. A LaunderPet employee should show the pet’s owner how to use the “E-Stop” (emergency stop) button on the Pet Spa and tell the owner to push the “E-Stop” button if the pet shows any sign of distress (in the event that a LaunderPet employee is not immediately available to push the “E-Stop” button).
  5. When in doubt about a pet’s distress, you must err on the side of caution and stop the Pet Spa cycle and remove the pet from the Pet Spa.

Since we introduced the Pet Spa Cabin at Belmont Pets & LaunderPet on March 8th, 2004, we have washed many dogs and cats in the Pet Spa Cabin per our customer’s requests and with great success.  I have washed my dog and store cat in the Pet Spa Cabin and they both did fine.  In fact, I have personally been through a rinse cycle in the Pet Spa Cabin and can tell you that it is harmless.  A local TV reporter did a live broadcast from our store and went through two complete wash and dry cycles in the Pet Spa Cabin with her three small dogs and was very pleased with the result.

In addition, the Pet Spa Cabin is especially good for washing “difficult pets” as it practically eliminates the risk of being scratched or bitten.  That’s a benefit that our groomers and some customers greatly appreciate.

It is our policy to obtain customer consent prior to using the Pet Spa Cabin for full-service grooming.  Over 99% of our Pet Spa Cabin use is by our self-service grooming customers (people who walk-in to have their pets washed in the Pet Spa Cabin).  Our employees operate the Pet Spa Cabin on behalf of our Pet Spa customers.

We love pets and believe that the Pet Spa Cabin is another effective and humane way of washing most dogs and cats.

Thanks and best regards,

Eric Hatch
